The days are getting shorter and it’s getting colder outside. The time with friends now rather takes place indoors again. The summer is over and with it the harvests are also brought in. It is time to preserve the quality of the harvests in bottles. What fits better here than spirits? This thought was the trigger for Peter Jauch to start a festival. So far, there is none in Switzerland that brings the different facets of spirits closer to the consumer. Since the “GIN Erlebnis Festival”| Zurich, Jauch knows that an interesting location with a central location is essential for the success of an event. He quickly reached an agreement with the operators of the Kraftwerk. After all, the co-working space is wonderfully suited for an unusual event. The two parties are jointly organizing the festival. Michael Bischoff speaks on behalf of Kraftwerk.
Former shipping containers become brand worlds
The location, which is divided into three areas, will also be used for the festival. The former shipping containers will become gin experience containers of brands such as Monkey 47, Sipsmith, Roku, Le Tribute, Mom, Larios or London No. 1.
Spirits Market
A spirits market is being created for the event in the exhibition area. Here, national and international brands play first fiddle. Appenzeller, for example, is not only packing its world-famous Alpenbitter, Gin27 and its aperitif variants onto its trailer, but is also taking a complete house directly on the road to Zurich. The founder of Gents, HG Hildebrandt, will bring his interesting spirits such as the Bongo Cherry, the Truffle Vodka, the Wermuts and the delicious coffee liqueur. The founders of the 4 Tiere Bar will also be involved in the market, after all, two years ago they founded the gin brand “Cloudy Passion” with a friend, which this year has grown by another product. The Bernese will arrive from the west with their Bitter di Berna and lots of tonic syrup.
The first Swiss Hot Gin Tonic is available with Gin 27 and Tom’s Tonic Syrup from Bern.
Michael Bischoff, Co-Organizer “about spirits” @Kraftwerk
After all, no one should freeze in front of the entrance. “Hot Gin Tonic” is conjured up in the cups. The market will be stocked from Berlin with the products of the Freimeisters Kollektiv. That the implementation will be perfect for the Berliners, Alex Ambruster, the operator of the Barfachschule Zurich and Baradox. Big brands like Johnnie Walker or Tanqueray will also serve drinks to guests at the festival, together with Red Bull’s Organics. Or do you like a delicious aperitif first – a visit to the Lillet stand is well worth it.
With such a wide range of spirits, the food offer must not be too small. Firstly, the Kraftwerk kitchen team will enchant guests with a special menu for the event, secondly, the Frisk Fisk team will come up with delicious creations, and thirdly, guests will find two or three surprises from the food area at the festival.
